Napier University goes live

On 8 September 2008, Napier University became the sixth institution to successfully complete an ePS implementation, and the third institution to go-live across all departments.

After an 18 week implementation, 214 users across 31 departments have access to 261 suppliers (4 with catalogues and 3 with punch-out sites). On the first day, 9 orders were place totalling £421,287.

David Campbell, Head of Procurement, believes ePS will deliver a range of benefits to the University including:-

  • freeing up resources within Accounts Payable, Procurement and departments through better and more visible processes
  • quicker turnaround of orders
  • direct savings in postage and stationery costs
  • reduction in the number of missing postal orders
  • enhanced line level item detail in ledger and reports
  • reduction in maverick buying
  • increased supplier catalogues resulting in accurate product and price information
  • increased control of procurement activity as the status of orders is clearly visible
  • increased profile and reputation of the Procurement department within the University.
