North Lanarkshire Council goes live with ePS
North Lanarkshire Council went live on 19th December 2005 with the eProcurement Scotl@nd service (ePS).
ePS is now live with more than 50 users trained within Corporate Procurement, and across the 3 service areas of Building Cleaning, Catering and Cleansing. 70 suppliers are live on the system with 17 catalogues (a mix of abc content and NLC specific content) and over the first 2 days, orders totalling in excess of £82,000 were raised. There is also full integration with the Councils CedAr finance application.
Colin Melville, Project Manager, North Lanarkshire Council said:
"Adopting eProcurement and joining ePS is a catalyst for change and enables the Council to sustain value over time and improves the efficiency of the purchase to pay process. eProcurement drives compliance and delivers increased value and improved terms without compromising the continued delivery of an effective and efficient service to the people of North Lanarkshire."
"North Lanarkshire Council will continue to roll out the ePS service and are currently working with CapGemini to develop a mechanism to accelerate the procurement transformation and the implementation of PECOS across the Council."
"North Lanarkshire Council are also investigating the use of eAuction and eTender to electronically manage aspects of the purchasing cycle, increasing efficiency and effectiveness".
