Heriot-Watt University goes live
On 4 June, Heriot-Watt University became the 5th institution to go live with the ePS service. It is the first University to go-live across the entire institution in one phase, bringing onboard 240 users with access to over 500 suppliers, 40 of whom provide content.
"The scale of the implementation means the transition for end users from Oracle iProc will be as pain free as possible" said Tony Newjem, Director of Procurement at Heriot-Watt University. He recognised that it had been a very challenging project and praised the tremendous efforts and professionalism of all involved in successfully completing the project activities. " I'm sure this system will quickly become a relied on and vital resource for the end users. For procurement, its ease of use and ongoing functional enhancements will help us achieve our goals of efficiency and effectiveness throughout the P2P process".
ePS has contiuned its rapid expansion into the Further and Higher Education Sector.
Aberdeen College, as Scotland's largest FE college, is the first institution to implement Invoicing in PECOS, using ePS to its full potential. The college transitioned from a fully manual system in September 2007 to completed ePS implementation by 30 January 2008. Instead of following the usual departmental breakdown for implementation, ePS went live across the entire college with over 200 users and around 500 suppliers.
