Dundee University goes live with some impressive ‘firsts’

The "go live" event for the University of Dundee was held on 12 September, where the University's Principal and Vice Chancellor, Sir Alan Langlands congratulated the project team on a successful implementation. He said the ePS project was a great example of "local co-operation to implement a national initiative."

Having been involved in several procurement initiatives over the years, notably at the NHS, Sir Alan was very impressed with the speed, collaboration and hard work that went into the ePS implementation project.

Some impressive achievements have been made at the University of Dundee:

  • 250 suppliers enabled in phase one
  • 343 live users the most ever in phase one of an ePS implementation
  • 400 orders successfully placed in the first week

Ellen Keir, the University of Dundee's project manager is grateful to the College of Life Sciences - one of Dundee University's largest colleges - for their "hard work and support." She adds, "The project team, including University and APUC staff, rose to the challenge and deserve full credit for delivering such a massive change project in just four months. Many processes were tailored towards the University's goals of commitment accounting and centralised invoice processing."

The University continues to rollout ePS across its other schools and colleges, with completion scheduled for July 2008.
