Scotland’s Public Productivity Conference 2006 - Public Services, Private Principles?

A one-day conference, 23 October, Edinburgh International Conference Centre

In June, the Scottish Executive published its long-awaited discussion document Transforming Public Services In Scotland: The Next Phase of Reform, which set out a number of practical measures to achieve productivity gains, including promoting partnerships and shared services with other authorities and with the private sector, using procurement more effectively, and reviewing the arrangements for scrutiny and accountability of public services.

This conference will look at the main principles of productivity in Scotland's public services and draw out the lessons for all public sector organisations. It will be of relevance to any of Scotland's public authorities or those who do business with them.
